OMG I have a Rosa Pomar doll!!!!

His name is Pedro and he hails from Portugal. He is made of 100% cotton fabric, wool with cashmere and vintage appliqué.


I LOVE ROSA'S DOLLS!! I surf to her website every.single.day to admire the dolls and Elvira, her adorable curly-haired daughter. Of all the dolls, I eyed this little creature. Little did I know that Foopy has been trying to get me a doll since April. Everytime he sees one he likes, he'd write to Rosa but her dolls sell like hot cakes. Finally Rosa made one – this exact one, #247 - especially for him (or me!) :). WOOHOO!!

"Dear Piao(Foopy), I hope you like the doll.
I would love to have a photo of the doll in Singapore
for my collection of photos of my dolls all around the world.

Thank you again and best wishes, Rosa"

PS. I was so excited I ripped the package open in the car and started taking pictures. I don't think Rosa would want photos of her doll inside a Toyota Corolla. Will try to take proper pictures of Pedro in Singapore for her this weekend.

PPS. We both cut our hair btw. I have a fringe again!

not really, when i already look very young :\. someone just mistook my younger sister (who's seven years younger) and me for twins! GAH!

i dunno about this one but i've enquired before and it's about 55 euro (plus shipping). precious dolls, they are :). do you like her other dolls? i quite like the mummy + baby dolls and the little girl/boy dolls. very cute.

hi deb,
i saw foopy waiting opposite republic plaza yesterday and he was holding a paper bag and he looked like he was waiting expectantly for someone (whom i guess must be u....nice bangs by the way)

so that was what was in the paper bag!!! that's really so sweet of him.... glad to hear that the grey skies have been chased away.

p.s on a separate note, would u feel weird if i came up to u and greeted u if i see u on the street?

of course not, pat! i'd love to meet you in real life! actually we met ann at balaclava for drinks last night. small world eh?

if you had waited a little longer, you would've met me! i was just walking over to meet him. he kept saying 'i have a surprise for you' but i caught glimpse of some golf shop bag and thought he probably got me gloves or balls for golf :p. so you can imagine how happy i was to see a non-golf-related present!! HEHEHEHEHE....

i don't know portuguese either, doesn't matter (anyway you can click on the 'translate' button under her entries). the beauty of her dolls transcends all languages :). i even told Foopy that i want to visit Portugal one day. HEHE.

Thanks so much for posting a picture of your new doll. I love Rosa's doll too and would love to own one myself one day. She once mentioned me in her blog and it was one of my proudest moments! You look so pretty with your new cut, but then again you always look so pretty!
